Amber is a resin that has simply mineralized to become the beautiful stone that we know today.
The main amber deposits are found around the Baltic Sea: in Finland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Russia, Ukraine, Poland, Sweden, Denmark and Germany.
Several million years ago, the sea covered all these countries and the resin was gradually deposited on the land that is now exploited to recover the stones.
