Rose quartz is a pale pink stone, slightly transparent when polished.
In the Middle East rose quartz symbolized fertility and love. The Greek people used this stone to celebrate the goddess of beauty and love: Aphrodite.
Later, in ancient Egypt, rose quartz stone was used as a beauty element for the youthfulness of the skin. It was also used to heal wounds in powder form.
- Amethyst:
The name “amethyst” comes from the Greek word “methystos” which means “drunkenness”, accompanied by the prefix “a” which indicates deprivation. The name “amethyst” literally means “not drunk” or “sober”. This comes from a Greek mythology. For the Greeks and Romans, amethyst represented the stone of Bacchus. At that time they drank their wine in amethyst cups to avoid drunkenness. They also wore jewelry to pay tribute to Bacchus.
